Safe Steps to Safe Schools - COVID-19 Testing Protocols
Los Angeles Unified COVID-19 Testing Protocols
TESTING AND RESPONSE
Individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive will be recommended to test. Staff and students with respiratory illness must stay home if they have a fever. Return is allowed if the staff member or student is fever-free for 24 hours without taking medication that reduces fever, AND other symptoms are mild or improving.
COVID-19 tests will not be collected or tracked by Los Angeles Unified School District.
For guidance about respiratory illness, visit LACDPH COVID-19 and Acute Respiratory Illness (ARI) Guidelines.
Individuals interested in obtaining COVID-19 tests may do so at LACDPH Community Health Stations.
